MANITOWOC — Sr. Mary Wilma Trottier, 87, a Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity, died Dec. 22 at Holy Family Convent in Manitowoc. Sr. Mary Wilma’s home parish was St. Mary, Rhinelander, at the time she entered the order in 1951. She professed final vows in 1960.
Sr. Mary Wilma, a graduate of Holy Family College, Manitowoc, was a teacher in Wisconsin and Michigan. In the Diocese of Green Bay, she taught at St. Anthony, Oconto Falls; St. Bernard, Green Bay; Holy Innocents, Manitowoc; and St. Thomas More, Appleton.
She also served as a homemaker at San Damiano Convent in Slinger, Wis., and St. Clare Convent in Manitowoc. Sr. Mary Wilma also did volunteer work at Holy Family Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc and was a laundress, driver and seamstress at Holy Family Convent and St. Francis Convent, both in Manitowoc.
Preceding Sr. Mary Wilma in death were her parents, William and Mabel (DeHale) Trottier; twin brother Joseph Trottier; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanine and Edward Korenak.
She is survived by the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, a brother and sister-in-law, William and Barbara Trottier, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral Mass was celebrated on Dec. 27 at Holy Family Convent. Franciscan Fr. Gerald Prusakowski presided. Burial followed in Holy Family Convent Cemetery.
