MANITOWOC — Sr. Alice Marie Hickok, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died on March 18 at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. She was 85.
Sr. Alice Marie was born on Oct. 27, 1939, to Marlyn and Marie (McLaughlin) Hickok and was a member of St. Agnes Parish, Green Bay.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Holy Family College, Manitowoc and a Master of Arts from Clarke College, Dubuque, Iowa.
Sr. Alice Marie joined the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity in 1957 and professed her Final Vows in 1964.
Sr. Alice Marie ministered as a teacher at St. James, Cooperstown; St. John, Antigo; and St. Paul, Wrightstown, all in the Diocese of Green Bay; and in Arizona at St. Peter Indian Mission, Bapchule; St. Anthony and Topawa Elementary, Topawa; San Xavier, Tucson; San Jose, Pisinemo; and St. Francis and Immaculate Conception, Yuma. She also taught at Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, Honolulu, Hawaii.
In addition to teaching, Sr. Alice was a faculty member and special education clinic director at Silver Lake College of the Holy Family, Manitowoc, and performed various services at Holy Family Convent.
Since 2008, she had been a resident of St. Rita Health Center, Manitowoc.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Roman Krobringer, and a brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Karen Hickok.
Sr. Alice Marie is survived by the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The funeral Mass was held on March 22 at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc with Rev. Gerald Prusakowski, OFM, as celebrant. Burial followed at Holy Family Convent Cemetery.
