PRAY FOR VOCATIONS: The Fiat Prayer Society is a prayer initiative from the Office of Vocations to get more people engaged in praying for vocations to the priesthood and religious life in the Diocese of Green Bay. Members pledge to pray daily for more young people to:

1.     Say “yes” to the vocations of the priesthood and religious life, using the “Daily Prayer for Vocations.”

2.     Pray daily for an outpouring of grace upon the priests and religious serving in our diocese, using the “Daily Prayer for Our Priests and Religious.”

3.     Pray for our men in priestly formation by offering a weekly rosary or Holy Hour.

4.     Offer your Holy Communion on the first Sunday of every month for an outpouring of priestly and religious vocations to our diocese.

5.     Offer a share in any sufferings you may experience for more young people to say “yes” to the vocations to the priesthood and religious life in our diocese and for an increase in zeal, fervor and grace for our bishop, priests, deacons, and the religious men and women serving our diocese.

VOCATION RETREAT: Norbertine Fr. Johnathan Turba will lead the “Summer Come & See Vocation Retreat,” Wednesday, June 26, through Sunday, June 30, at St. Norbert Abbey, 1016 N. Broadway, De Pere. The retreat will offer the opportunity for a deeper immersion in daily Norbertine life. Retreatants will spend time in prayer and liturgy, as well as visit Norbertine apostolates and friends of the community in the Green Bay area. STORY HOUR: “Kids’ Catholic Story Hour” is offered at 11 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month at Cathedral Book & Gift, 131 S. Madison St., Green Bay. Fr. Daniel Schuster, pastor of Holy Trinity Parish, Casco/Slovan, and Immaculate Conception Parish, Luxemburg, will be the guest reader on June 1. A faith lesson/message will follow his reading of “Amelia Bedelia” by Peggy Parish. The program is designed for children ages 12 and younger, but is open to all.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP: “Refresh Our Hearts in Christ,” a morning of refreshment in mind, spirit and body, and a gathering to praise and worship, will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, Saturday, June 1, at the Diocesan Charismatic Renewal Center, 650 S. Irwin St., Green Bay (the former St. Mary of the Angels School). Lisa Preissner will serve as the praise and worship leader.

LITURGICAL MINISTRY TRAINING: All parishioners who serve as extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion are required to take a course offered by the Office of Divine Worship of the Diocese of Green Bay. Workshops focus on training those who already serve as extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion as well as those who wish to begin in this volunteer ministry. FREEDOM COUNTRY FEST: LOCASH, the American country music duo known for “I Love This Life,” “One Big Country Song” and other hits, will headline Freedom Country Fest 2024, Friday, June 7, at the St. Nicholas Church grounds, W2035 Hwy S, Freedom. Opening for the duo will be multi-platinum-selling country group BlackHawk and country artist/songwriter Brady Lee. Gates open at 5 p.m. Advanced purchase tickets are on sale now at freedomcountryfest.com. Reserved seating is $60 and includes a reserved seat, cash bar and VIP porta potties. Pit VIP tickets are $60 and include standing-room-only pit at center stage, cash bar and VIP porta potties. General admission tickets are $40 each. Tickets are also available at the St. Nicholas Parish office. Several Fox Valley businesses also have tickets available for purchase. Visit the event website for more information. Tickets may be purchased at the gate the night of the concert for $70 each for reserved seating and pit VIP, if available, and $55 each, general admission. On-site parking is $10. The outdoor music festival is an all-ages event.

FOOTBALL FUNDRAISER: A brat fry to benefit Wildcats football will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, in the St. Joseph Church parking lot, 936 9th St., Green Bay.

MULTI-CULTURAL EVENT: St. Willy’s Jam will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at St. Willebrord Church, 209 S. Adams St., Green Bay. Outdoor bilingual English and Spanish Mass begins at 10:45 a.m. and will include music by the Maroszek Brothers Polka Band. The event also features music, dancing and food, including Deacon Luis’s famous tacos, hamburgers, hot dogs, baked desserts and Mexican-style snacks. Raffle prizes will follow. LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE: InitiativeOne will host its first leadership conference, June 13-16, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Fred Johnson, Ph.D., InitiativeOne Founder, along with award-winning superintendent Stephen Peters, Ph.D., Tennessee Titans director of football operations Chad Brinker, Alec Ingold of the Miami Dolphins and founder of The Ingold Family Foundation, and Erica Reid-Dixon a commanding officer of the Navy Reserve Center in Green Bay will headline the list of keynote speakers for the event. Other speakers will include InitiativeOne CEO Tracy Johnson and a host of other leaders at InitiativeOne, along with panelists from industry leaders in manufacturing, education and professional sports. SUMMER ACTION RETREAT: “Anchored in Hope,” a retreat for seventh, eighth and ninth grade boys, will be held from Monday, June 17, to Wednesday, June 19, at St. Lawrence Seminary High School, 301 Church St., Mount Calvary. The retreat will feature Mass, prayer, faith-building activities, field olympics and outdoor games. The cost is $50 per student. Transportation is available from Green Bay. ROSARY FOR VOCATIONS: The Green Bay Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will hold the Barb Kimme Memorial Traveling Rosary for Vocations on Thursday, June 20, at St. Pius X, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton. Tea is at 3 p.m. followed by the Rosary at 4 p.m. A Mass with a special intention for vocations is at 5:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.gbdccw.org.

SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS: Registration is open for summer athletic camps offered by St. Mary Catholic Schools, Neenah/Menasha. Camps include tennis, girls’ volleyball and basketball, and boys’ basketball and football. The camps are open to any student from any school. RETREATS: Jesuit Retreat House on Lake Winnebago offers two types of silent retreats: weekend preached retreats from September through May and five- and eight-day summer directed retreats during the months of June, July and August.
