GREEN BAY, WI — Vida Medical Clinic, a pregnancy resource center and medical clinic with locations in Appleton, Oshkosh and Green Bay, held a pastor luncheon, ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house to celebrate the opening of its most recent expansion in Green Bay on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
Over 40 pastors from local Catholic, Protestant and non-denominational Christian communities attended the luncheon and building blessing, including Bishop David Ricken.
Local churches and parishes represented at the event included Prince of Peace Parish in Bellevue, Jacob’s Well Church, Journey Community Church, New Hope Presbyterian Church, Samaritan’s Heart Mission Church, Life Bridge Christian Church, The Able Church, Apostolic Truth Church, Green Bay Community Church, Living Hope Church, and others.
“We were honored to gather with more than 40 pastors and church partners for a luncheon and building blessing—sharing a meal, deepening understanding of Vida’s mission, and praying over our new space, our staff, and the ministry ahead.,” said Anne Tretinyak, executive director of Vida Medical Clinic. “The presence of Bishop Ricken, who joined us in prayer and encouragement, was a special highlight and a truly meaningful moment for our team.”
Vida has been actively preparing to expand into the Green Bay area over the past three years.
In April 2025, Vida purchased the building, formerly occupied by Prevea Health Clinic, at 670 Cormier Road, and allowed them to lease it through late fall 2025 to support a smooth transition for their providers.

After last fall, Vida began renovations to ready the space, including painting, adjusting walls, updating electrical work, and more. In March 2026, the Green Bay location opened its doors with a light schedule.
Vida Medical Clinic in Green Bay looks forward to gradually expanding its hours and deepening its presence in the Green Bay community, representatives said.
Vida is also currently running a $5 million capital campaign called GBV Capital Campaign to fund the expansion and ensure sustainable services for families in the region.
Current operations of the Green Bay Vida Medical Clinic location:
- Medical Clinic: Open Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Parent Support Services: Open Mondays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Pope Leo’s ‘Magnifica humanitas’: AI must serve humanity not concentrate power

VATICAN — “Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice: either to construct a new Tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together.”
The opening words of Pope Leo XIV’s first encyclical, “Magnifica humanitas: On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of Artificial Intelligence,” summarize its underlying reasons and purpose.
Published on Monday, May 25, the pope signed the encyclical on May 15, the 135th anniversary of the promulgation of Pope Leo XIII’s “Rerum novarum.”
Pope Leo XIV has taken up the legacy of his predecessor, writing a social encyclical which addresses one of the principal challenges of the contemporary age: artificial intelligence.
Divided into five chapters, “Magnifica humanitas” has an underlying premise: technology is not “a force antagonistic to humanity” (4), nor is it “inherently evil” (9). However, “technology is never neutral, because it takes on the characteristics of those who devise, finance, regulate, and use it.”
Therefore, Pope Leo XIV appeals for people to build “for the common good” and to “remain human,” following a courageous mentality of shared responsibility and communion, so that the world “will come to recognize the human heart as the place where God desires to dwell” (16).
