RETREAT ON THE SYNOD: Sr. Marie Kolbe Zamora and Julia McStravog, Ph.D., will lead “Conversation in the Spirit: A Retreat on the Synod,” Thursday, June 27, through Sunday, June 30, at the Norbertine Center for Spirituality at St. Norbert Abbey, 1016 N. Broadway, De Pere. The universal church has been invited into a synod by Pope Francis, with the first meeting of the Synod on Synodality being held last October. Join Sr. Marie Kolbe, a Manitowoc Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity and a participant in the Synod on Synodality, and McStravog, senior advisor to the United States Bishops’ Conference on the Synod, in exploring the nuts and bolts of the Synod as well as more deeply engage in the practice of discernment and listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit. The $450 cost per person includes meals, a renovated retreat room with private bathroom and all presentations. CHURCH RUMMAGE SALE: St. Patrick Parish, 324 Nicolet Blvd., Menasha, will hold a rummage sale fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8. The sale is in union with the Doty Island rummage sale.

CHILD LOSS MASS: A Mass commemorating children lost at any age will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, at St. Bernard Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, Green Bay.

LUNCH AND LEARN: McCormick Assisted Living offers free “Lunch and Learn” sessions in the Grellinger Dining Room, 212 Iroquois Ave., Green Bay. Sessions run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a box lunch is provided. The next session is “Cooking for Caregivers” on Tuesday, June 11. Gather helpful, nutritious ideas for quick and balanced meals. FLAG DAY EVENT: The Gardens at Felician Village, in partnership with VFW Otto Oas Post 659, will host a Flag Day event on Friday, June 14, at 1700 S. 18th St., Manitowoc. The event will begin at 11 a.m. with a flag-raising ceremony by VFW Otto Oas Post 659, followed by patriotic songs led by Gardens’ resident Barb Cook. WEDNESDAYS FOR WOMEN: Kathy Tilot will present “Women of the Mystics,” 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the Norbertine Center for Spirituality at St. Norbert Abbey, 1016 N. Broadway, De Pere. PARISH RUMMAGE SALE: St. Philip Parish, 312 Victoria St., Green Bay, will hold its annual two-day rummage sale on Friday, June 14, and Saturday, June 15. Items include furniture, tools, kitchenware, linens, pictures, clothes, toys, books and more. All items will be half-price on Saturday.

LITURGICAL MINISTRY TRAINING: All parishioners who serve as extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion are required to take a workshop offered by the Office of Divine Worship of the Diocese of Green Bay. Workshops focus on training those who already serve as extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion as well as those who wish to begin in this volunteer ministry. SUMMER ACTION RETREAT: “Anchored in Hope,” a retreat for seventh-, eighth- and ninth-grade boys, will be held from Monday, June 17, to Wednesday, June 19, at St. Lawrence Seminary High School, 301 Church St., Mount Calvary. The retreat will feature Mass, prayer, faith-building activities, field olympics and outdoor games. The cost is $50 per student. Transportation is available from Green Bay. VOCATION RETREAT: Norbertine Fr. Johnathan Turba will lead the “Summer Come & See Vocation Retreat,” Wednesday, June 26, through Sunday, June 30, at St. Norbert Abbey, 1016 N. Broadway, De Pere. The retreat will offer the opportunity for a deeper immersion in daily Norbertine life. Retreatants will spend time in prayer and liturgy, as well as visit Norbertine apostolates and friends of the community in the Green Bay area. URGENT NEED: The American Red Cross reports it critically needs blood and platelet donors now following a concerning decrease in donations as the country has experienced an increase in severe weather systems and historic travel. Over the past month, the Red Cross said, about 20,000 fewer blood donations were collected than were needed to maintain the Red Cross’ national blood supply.How can you help?

·Make a blood donation appointment by downloading the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

·Help people affected by disasters like flooding and countless other crises by making a financial donation to Red Cross Disaster Relief today at redcross.org or via 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Your gift enables the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small.
