Former Packers president and CEO gives $100,000 to Catholic Green Bay resource center, in addition to two other major donations
GREEN BAY, WI — Former president and CEO of the Green Bay Packers, Mark Murphy, and his wife, Laurie, have contributed $100,000 to Casa ALBA Melanie, a Catholic Hispanic resource center serving all Hispanic residents of Brown County.
The Murphy family also donated the same amount each to two other culturally specific resource centers serving Brown County: COMSA, A Resource Center Serving Immigrants and Refugees, and We All Rise: African American Resource Center. The donations totaled $300,000.
“The Murphys’ donation comes at a critical moment for local organizations supporting immigrant and refugee families, as demand for services continues to rise and funding sources grow increasingly uncertain,” said a recent collaborative press release from all three organizations.
“We are deeply grateful for this gift and for the ongoing supporters who continue to stand with our mission,” said Amanda Garcia, executive director of Casa ALBA Melanie. “This investment in our agencies sends a powerful message that when we work together and uplift one another, we strengthen our entire community. Especially in moments of uncertainty, we hold firm to a simple truth: love is more powerful than hate, and hope is stronger than fear.”
“As regional and national conversations around immigration and race continue to evolve, Green Bay residents increasingly turn to these culturally specific local organizations for information, reassurance, and support,” said the release.
The Murphys’ contribution arrives ahead of Give BIG Green Bay, the community-wide 24-hour fundraising event taking place February 25-26 from noon to noon.
COMSA is one of 50 nonprofits participating this year and will host an Open House on February 25 from 2 6 p.m. for community members to see its work in action. The event will be held at COMSA’s offices, 201 Military Avenue, Suite 101, Green Bay, WI, 54303.

Felician Village announces ‘Set Sail for Wheels’ fundraiser event to support transportation
MANITOWOC, WI — Felician Village, a senior life plan campus dedicated to enriching the lives of its residents, is excited to announce its upcoming fundraising event, “Set Sail for Wheels.” The event aims to raise funds for the Felician Village transportation program.
The fundraiser event is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 5-9 p.m., at Silver Valley Hospitality, 1222 S. Alverno Road, Manitowoc.
This year’s Gilligan’s Island inspired theme, reminds us of the importance of ensuring no one is left behind or “stranded.” Just as the castaways relied on one another to navigate island life, our Felician Village residents depend on us to provide reliable access to care, services, and community experiences.
Highlights of the event include a DJ, dancing, raffle baskets, games, and a photo area.
Felician Village plans to continue the expansion of its transportation program, most recently acquiring a fully donor-sponsored ADA-accessible bus that allows all campus residents to enjoy group outings.
“Our dream was always to provide a new bus and a van as that would help fill the transportation gaps for our residents. Our community is amazingly supportive and because of that we are looking ahead to expanding our fleet to include an ADA-accessible van,” said Renee Thompson, Felician Village director of donor development.
Tickets for the “Set Sail for Wheels” event are available to purchase Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Felician Village, 1635 S. 21st Street, Manitowoc. Tickets are also available online at felicianvillage.org.
Pre-sale tickets are $20 or available the day of the event at the door for $25. Tickets include entry to the event, appetizers, and one drink ticket. Various sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses, organizations, and individuals looking to support this cause.
