Diocese of Green Bay patron feast day celebrated at Cathedral of St. Francis Xavier

GREEN BAY, WI — The Feast of St. Francis Xavier, the principal patron of the Diocese of Green Bay, was celebrated as a solemnity in the diocese on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

Bishop David Ricken was the main celebrant at the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Mass for the solemnity in the evening, with a reception that followed.

At the event, Fr. Ryan Krueger, rector of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, was surprised by the parish community with an early Christmas gift. Several months ago, a group from the Holy Land visited the Cathedral and displayed many handmade carvings and statues. Some members of the parish noticed that Fr. Krueger was interested in a statue of St. Michael the Archangel but decided against purchasing it, and they pooled funds to purchase it for him.
