CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: Jenifer Jensen, above, elementary religious education coordinator at St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, Oshkosh, uses hand signs to tell the Nativity story at “Christmas for Kids” on Dec. 14 at Father Carr’s Place 2B in Oshkosh. The event also included a pancake breakfast donated by Perkins, a craft project, Toyland and take-home cookie kits donated by Tamara’s the Cake Guru. Young people also received blankets, stuffed animals, stockings, hats, gloves, mittens and hygiene kits. An estimated 375 children participated this year. “It’s incredibly special to share this experience with my family, friends and fellow volunteers who feel like family,” said Brittany Wilms, one of the coordinators. “Seeing the kids’ smiles and the joy this event brings make it all worth it. … It’s heartwarming to see how much love and generosity the community pours into this program each year.”
