New school playground dedicated to Our Lady of Champion

KAUKAUNA, WI — Students, school families, parishioners, and local community members gathered on Thursday, July 31, the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, to celebrate the completion of a major project for the St. Ignatius Catholic School community: the construction of its new playground.

During construction, Headmaster Drew Mulloy placed over 100 Miraculous Medals beneath the playground, asking Our Lady for her protection and guidance. Following Mass, Fr. Tony Stephens, who serves at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion, performed a blessing and dedication of the playground to Our Lady of Champion.

Following the blessing, students and their families enjoyed the new playground and feast day festivities with popsicles and coloring pages.
