EXHIBIT: “Fine Art Graphic Design & In-Between,” the work of Brian Pirman, will be on display Monday, Aug. 26, through Thursday, Oct. 31, in the Bush Art Center galleries at St. Norbert College, De Pere. Gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning Aug. 26. A special reception for Pirman will be held at the galleries from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Pirman, associate professor of art at St. Norbert since 1997, will present a 45-year retrospective journey that includes stops in Madison, Chicago, the design department at Oscar Mayer Foods and, for the past 27 years, St. Norbert College.
With a background in fine art and graphic design, Pirman’s experience includes corporate identity, logotype, collateral, poster, signage and web design, as well as brand equity and package design. He has received numerous awards for his work.
Pirman currently spends time in the fine art realm experimenting with digital imaging, which involves electronic image manipulation focusing on color, form, texture and patterns.
He says his primary goal is to create engaging and thought-provoking work, with his inspirations drawn from fine art, film, nature and popular culture.
GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP: A new grief support program to help people cope after the loss of a loved one is being offered by St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Oshkosh. Meetings will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month, Sept. 12 through April 10, in the Parish Center, 10125 W. 5th Ave., Oshkosh. YOUTH SOCCER: St. Joseph Wildcats Youth Soccer is forming coed leagues for the fall. Grades 5 and 6 will play on Mondays and Wednesdays. Grades 7 and 8 will play on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
