GREEN BAY — The Missionary Leadership Institute (MLI) commissioned 54 leaders on May 22 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral.
Fr. John Girotti, vicar general and moderator of the Curia for the Diocese of Green Bay, celebrated the Mass and blessed the lay ecclesial ministry and intensive year participants.
The leaders were called and then declared their willingness to serve the church. This was affirmed by the pastors, pastoral leaders and assembly present.
The candidates have been approved for commissioning as missionary disciples for the Diocese of Green Bay after one to two years of intensive study.
The program is designed for a wide variety of parish leaders to discern their vocation, their particular call to holiness and be formed as leaders who will evangelize and disciple others. It also forms parish staff members to serve the church more effectively in lay ministry.
The Missionary Leadership Institute is offered in English and Spanish.
