Easter’s approach brings free meals and Easter egg hunts

GREEN BAY — Easter is about life and hope,  and sharing that life and hope with others.

These signs of hope include the free Easter meals and Easter egg hunts for children offered by local groups and churches during Holy Week and Easter Sunday.

Most of the following free meals or egg hunts will take place on Easter Sunday, March 31.

Please double-check the dates because not all events are on Easter Sunday.

All are welcome.

APPLETON

Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 740 E. College Ave., will celebrate its Easter SonRise Worship on Sunday, March 31, at 8 a.m., with a pancake breakfast to follow. An Easter Egg Hunt will also be held at 8:45 a.m. No need to register. A freewill offering will be taken at the breakfast.

GILLETT   

Hillside Assembly of God, 5890 State Highway 22 W, will host an Easter Egg Hunt with candy and carnival games on Saturday, March 30. Weather permitting, the egg hunt will be outside, with all activities beginning at 10 a.m. There is no charge. Register online at HillsideAssembly.com/egghunt.

Hillside Assembly of God, 5890 State Highway 22 W, will also hold a free Easter Breakfast on Sunday, March 31, at 9 a.m. in the church gym, until the 10 a.m. worship service. No reservations needed. Donations welcome. Call (920) 855-2962 for more information.

GREEN BAY

New Community Shelter, 301 Mather St., will host Palm Sunday (March 24), Good Friday (March 29) and Easter Sunday (March 31) meals from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m. No need for reservations. They no longer have a takeout option, so all meals must be eaten in the dining room. 

Bay City Baptist Church, 1840 Bond St., will host Easter Breakfast from 9 to 9:40 a.m. on Easter Sunday, followed by an Easter Celebration service at 10 a.m. No reservations needed.

OSHKOSH

Father Carr’s Place 2B, 1062 N. Koeller Street (Hwy. 21 and Hwy. 41), will host its annual Easter Day dinner as an eat-in meal and program from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Mother Teresa Center. No reservations are needed. 

For home deliveries, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon, call (920) 231-2378. Orders are now being accepted.

POUND 

Hillside Assembly of God North, 2023 County Road Q, will host an Easter Eggstravaganza egg hunt with candy and carnival games on Saturday, March 23, for children in grades 2-5 beginning at 10 a.m. Weather permitting, the egg hunt will be outside. There is no charge, Register online at HillsideNorth.com/egghunt. Call (920) 897-2791 for more information. 

There will be an Easter Service on Sunday, March 31, at 10 a.m. at the church.

SEYMOUR 

New Life United Methodist Church of Seymour and Cicero, 721 Pleasant Way, will host a Community Easter Meal from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Easter Sunday. Meals can also be requested for carryout or delivery. Reservations are required by March 27. Call (920) 833-7308. Walk-ins are also welcome.
